On a unique guided or self-guided tour, you can admire this 17th-century maritime fortification with its keep, barracks, food hall, powder magazine, guardhouse… In the keep, you can learn about the fort’s history. A relief map also shows the fortifications along the coast, from the Gironde to the Charente. At the top of the tower, enjoy a panoramic view of the Oleron bay.

Fort Louvois is open from late March to early November. At low tide, you can reach the fort on foot in 5 minutes, and at high tide, a boat takes you across free of charge.

The fort is 23 kilometers from the 5-star La Boulinière campsite.
