Founded in 1966 as France’s first private zoo, it is now one of the Charente-Maritime region’s most popular tourist attractions.
Here, you can contemplate over 1600 mammals, birds and reptiles representing 115 different species, spread across a vast wooded area in the heart of the Coubre forest. Every year, the Zoo registers between 200 and 300 births, a success that can be attributed to the care taken in feeding and caring for the animals.
